If the clear is white-sh and dull, it will polish back but if the clear is gone-dont buff. If it has flakes in it you will damage them and they will become silver if you sand on them. Best way is to spray on clear gel coat (can get it from Bass Cat) or if it is small enough area, you can roll it with a quality foam roller (wont be as good) but you can then wet sand that down and then buff. I scratched my 94 Eyra and sprayed the gel coat (has to be thinned for best results) and it does take a lot of work to make it right.{had to put back in three colors}..I was a bodyman-painter for 20 years so I had all the tools.
