2013 puma ftd merc 250 pro xs gen 2 lower unit Bravo 1xs prop

Kshort has one on his Eyra but not that lower unit. Check youtube for a kevin short video on it.His prop is worked outta Havasu though. Kevins runs great.High Cotton had one on a puma FTD unworked but not sure his lower unit generation….I believe the words he described it with were…..dog, sucks, POS, anchor, hate this, WTF, WTH, etc.Not a lot of experience out there. Gotta figure that somewhere between the two lies the answer?C.O.D. Jr. III

Ive never run a Bravo. The prop Ward described was the new Pro Max (aka $579 anchor) . I have a Gen 1 torquemaster LU

I run a Bravo 1 XS 28P 8 holes, on my 2013 Eyra 250 pro xs, Gen 2 LU, Atlas Hyd plate. It has been worked by Mark Croxton. I ran this prop on my 09 Puma FTD pro xs 250 with a manual plate and was hitting low 80s. I put the prop on my new setup and it kept blowing out on launch. I sent it back to Croxton and had more cup added to it and now its great. I also run a 27P Bravo 1 XS same setup as the 28P. These props, with work will carry the load and the lift is great. You will more than likely need to get a Bravo 1 worked because of your LU, the gen2 LU is a different unit for sure as it will run much higher than the gen1 LU, I am still not pleased nor convinced that Mercury made a good decision on the upgrade. I am a firm believer in getting a prop at minimum balanced, you wouldnt drive a new car with unbalanced wheels. Hope this helps.

Barkerg, What pitch bravo 1xs would you run on a 2012 cougar ftd 250 proxs with 2 power poles.A 27 0r 28 and would you run it higher than my 26 fury.

Basscat250,I would recommend a 27P that has been worked specifically for better launch, (Mark Croxton). I would NOT drill more holes and raise your plate 1/4″ to 1/2″ if its a manual plate. This prop will lift the back and front with great mid range. Depending on load batteries, T motor, gear, fuel etc… The 27P should do the trick, pretty sure a 28P will be a little big to turn due to the added weight. I hope this helps brother.Gerald

Thanks for the info I ran the bravo 1xs on my 2008 and loved it. This new rig with the gen 2 lower unit is a different animal. I have not tried the bravo 1xs on this one yet because I cant make myself spend the the money on the chance that it will be better than the Fury, Any more input is greatly appreciated !!!

I used the Fury on both my setups and just did not like the lift or control on the top end (squirrely). Furys are fast and will definitely put your rig into the tailgate when trailering but it boils down to personal preference. I also eliminated chine walking issues with the Bravo 1xs that existed at about 73ish mph with the Fury.
