LOL! Nice!~ Contact Service@BassCat.com with your serial number and they will replace that unit. This is a sealed beam light, so you should not have a continuous issue. BCB
BCB, Thanks for such a quick reply! Sent…. Sure sore this morning! LOL Might be a while before I can get down there to replace it. GeorgeGeorge
We were just lucky to be so fast on this one. It sounds like luck was only on your side as you did not break something. Sore is better! BCB
Danny: I recently ordered one from BCB, and Ill tell you what I know. Youre correct that there is no mounting bracket, so youll have to drill a couple of holes in the bottom (I think?) of the rear cross-member to mount it (I havent received my order so I havent installed yet- I just know that Scott told me it will require drilling). I plan to mount mine on the left rear side, which seems to be the location of choice? As far as the wiring part, if you look up into the trailer tongue with it in the break-away position you will see a BLUE wire lead, and this is the one you will connect to. Youll have to pick up a spool of 16 ga. wire (they usually come in 30 ft. spools at the local parts house- which is sufficient) and just run it along with the factory wiring to your new light and make the connection there for the positive. Attach ground to one of your new light mounting bolts and youre done Edit: According to the posts below from CFAN and brewcat, the RIGHT SIDE is the best spot. Thanks for that information guys !!! Will you have to go from the tounge or can you connect toward from the back. When you get yours done post a picture and let me know how it went. Thanks
My Back-up light is mounted on the right side of the trailer. Came that way from the factory.
My light is on the lower right rear side. It does it job. Seen a couple pics of them mounted in the “up” position even?
I have one on both sides. My 2004 FTD came on the drivers side and I had H20 mount another on the right. You Never have enough light when you are backing down the ramp in the early AM Ron
Where did they mount the one that H2O installed
Danny, Check this out: BCB trailers There is a picture of a light installed that will give you at least an idea of where it can be mounted. I was assuming that it would mount on the rear-most crossmember, but the photo shows it on either the next one forward or its a piece of steel welded onto the frame at the factory? Hope that helps some! (of course, you can always just call BCB and speak to parts for all the specifics on this) John Helms Hot Springs, ARJohn Helms Hot Springs, AR
Need to correct myself. The factory came on the drivers side. Mounted on the 2th cross member on the back looks to have a small set out piece for this. H20 mounted the other one on the passengers side. They just drilled a hole thru the cross member on the bottom side. On the passenger side you need to adjust your light to work around the license plate hanging down. Ron
Might be a blue lead with a butt connector on it in the nose of the trailer (accessed via the fold away tongue) and that should be your back up light lead. Check it out with a volt meter but it has been that way on the 08 and 09 that I have, never looked for it before then. Good luck and you can go above or below. If you go above the frame it is harder to knock off if backing into a parking spot with a hill or have a hill you back ever need to back up. Judd Lasiter
How much trouble is it to add a back up light. And where would you put it since it has no bracket. Thanks. This is an 2007 and I want to add one
I will try to get a better picture tonight but here is the only one I have right now. It is partially cut off but you can see generally where it would be at.Pic removed by sdfd504Last edited by sdfd504 on March 22nd, 2010, 8:19 pm, edited 1 time in total.
