Welded to trailer and Id say about level with the cowling.
From the factory its welded, aftermarket its bolted on. I do not have any trouble getting into a 7 tall garage door. Best option that I got when I ordered my boat, I cannot count how many times people have talked about it and how useful it is.
I love the idea of it I was just hoping it would clear without any problems. I had about 3more inches of clearance on my last boat before my cowling would hit so as long as its close to that height I shouldnt run into any issues. The new boat I should have this weekend has it on it so I was just curious. Hated to get that new thing home and be upset because I couldnt park it in my shop.
Also one nice thing about it, remove the ball slip a piece of pipe over and it works good for a flag pole in boat parades.
They are welded.. and I have no problems getting into the standard garage door.
When I bought my Puma in 2007 I had a similar concern. I asked my dealer if the pole could be made to a specific height. Turns out it could so my pole is 3″ shorter than standard and it fits into my garage door no problem. If I leave my Merc 250 Pro XS tilted up on the transom saver my motor cover hits the gargage door. I need to remove my transom saver and tilt my motor down in order for the motor to fit under my door. Dont know if that helps you determine how tall your grab pole can be but I thought Id throw it in.BCB, can you still make the greb pole to a custom height?
Yes, though they should fit under a standard 6 8″ header now. BCB
Nice fish there Mr Helfgott. See you on Friday morning.I brought home my new Puma in December and it fits in my garage with no problem and it is an 84″ door.
I installed my grab pole last week on my puma ftd. It was not a very big job. It really help getting in and out the boat. Like it very much, Thanks Pete.
Bleeding brakes is not that difficult. A little help and patience goes a long way. Refer to the UFP website or the literature that came with your boat on how to bleed. Another option is to pay someone to bleed with a vacuum system. Lastly, if BCB were to do the job I would imagine that shipping costs are going to eat your lunch due to the size of the package.Last edited by PhilAddison on August 7th, 2015, 2:51 am, edited 1 time in total.
Phil is doing a great job helping out this week. Phil, have you had time to sleep this week?
Yeah PA is one of a kind in experience and representation in someone who cashes some checks and aint selling a boat with 10 hours on it after 9 months- Lol.After a decade of hanging out here and seeing his body of consistent work its hard to imagine anyone in a similar role being mentioned as greater-Last edited by clownshoes on August 7th, 2015, 11:35 am, edited 1 time in total.C.O.D. If the step is rubbing there is a good chance it was tweaked somewhere along the road to you by a force upwards. They are tucked back under the frame on production units and very few rub and have to be adjusted for clearance. The addition of a grab post might just be a weld on pole locally and buy the step part for the bolt on style in raw steel from BCB.
I had a bolt on grab pole installed this week on my PIV and it looks great. After climbing in the boat last night I know I am really going to like it.
Its another one of those options that once you have it you cant ever be without it again. BCB seem to come up with a lot of those. Rooster you got PA head so swole up this morning its hilarious
