PowerPoles and hole shot

I have a 2009 Puma FTD with a 250 ProXS. Once I added the PowerPole 8 Blades, the hole shot changed. It only becomes a real problem when the boat is loaded: gas tanks are half full and the live wells are full and there is over 400 lbs of angler in the boat. I use a Trophy Plus 26 pitch or a Bravo 1XS 26 pitch. Attached is a picture of my stern so you can see where the jackplate is sitting and the poles, etc. Should I try dropping a pitch in the prop? or lifting the jackplate? or raising the PowerPoles-I think they could go up a little? Or just live with those moments and ask my co-angler to sit up on the front step (which does help quite a bit)?Based on what I have read here, I am assuming that the main problem is that the poles and brackets are dragging. Some of what I read seemed to suggest that this might be hard on the motor too, in addition to slowing down the hole shot. Not sure if I am interpreting that correctly.

Definitely start with raising your PPs as high as you can! Id get the prop looked at to make sure its good! Then trial and error on the motor height! You might be low for a Bravo or Trophy? Last edited by kdietz on July 21st, 2015, 9:01 pm, edited 2 times in total.

Looking at the picture, your motor and pole hieght are the same as mine. I run a 25 Fury in the summer with extra PVS holes drilled and my holeshot is good. 26 Fury when air temps get back to the mid 60s

Thanks. Yes, the poles could go up a little I think. The prop is new. The motor height is at the default I think. The inner edge of the sliding portion is flush with the top of the jackplate bracket.

Good to know the 25 pitch prop works well for your Mainliner61. Are you using it fully loaded with the weight I described at times?

Yes the 25 works well for me with Full gas tanks, full livewells, 400+ with me and partner, & 4 batteries. Still can run upper 70s. Furys are hard to beat on a Puma FTD in my opinion

Mainliner, how many extra holes did you get in your Fury? Size? Plugs?Thanks!
