I picked this boat up used and it had a 14 1/2″ X 24″ pitch Raker prop on it. It will run at 71+mph but starts chine walking well before it gets there. I know the motor has been raised about a 1/2″, I think Im going to drop it back down and see if it will get rid of the chine walk. Any help will be appreciated.Brian BrianHAWG Hunter2013 BassCat Eyra2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS Gen2 L/U
Not sure about the E-Tech, I run a 200 SHO and WOT is 75-76mph with the Yamaha 25 pitch T1 prop. I am currently about 2.25 inches below pad with the prop. Not sure if lowering the prop will eliminate the chine walk, mine does it, just got to drive it! I ran the 26 Fury and it ran the same speed at 300 rpms less. I am sure some of these Evinrude guys will give you some good info soon!Brian
Thats a good option on the Raker, and we have run a Tempest and a Trophy on that rig also for some increased control.
According to the paperwork from the factory it came with a 26″ Tempest installed. That is where my question cam in two inches of pitch seemed to be a bunch. I dont know that much about these things as of yet therefore the questions. Thank you for the input and please help educate me. BrianBrianHAWG Hunter2013 BassCat Eyra2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS Gen2 L/U
Brian, we would try either a 25 Tempest or Trophy, we think a 26 is too deep. This may be why you now have a 24 Raker. Both an Alabama and a Ohio dealer we always felt over propped.
Brian your setup is a Very Very good one…..a 200HO is really a 225, Ive been known to know a thing or 2 about HOs………It has the Very well setup 1:86.1 Gear Case with the Lightning Bullet…..Make sure to check your Fuel system per BRPs guidelines, because of some fuel issues and fuel injector claims they have developed a Very Stringent fuel test to check for air leaks, air is not good for DFI motas……besides that XD100 Oil, 87octane fuel with stabil or Evinrude 2+4 fuel conditioner….FUEL IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO THESE MOTORS, make sure its CLEAN and FRESH at all times, their are 6 injectors at $400-$600 a piece…..THE 200 HO is a Very reliable unit, ive heard of 1 guy with issues and we know who that is, sorry Kelly……any questions shoot me a email…. oh, and Try a Old style Raker 1, Raker 2s suck and are soft…….Raker 1s are Real Deals…….Go get you a FURY 25 and Set her at 3inches below pad and see how she runs, like the SHO Boys will tell ya 2-2 1/2 inches will work with these Big Boy LWP HOs and SHOs does that stand for Super HO? I have a new 26″ Fury comming, hopefully I will also have a 25″ Fury and a 25″ Tempest coming soon. Then I will be able to do some testing of my own with the 200 H.O. E-Tech. Oh by the way I found a crack in the 24″ RakerII, you were right Brannon.BrianBrianHAWG Hunter2013 BassCat Eyra2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS Gen2 L/U
That is a dynamite combo and a very very strong motor. You got a good selection of props to test. Be safe and report back with your findings.
