Ski Pole Question

The hole is not drilled in the seat post, that you will have to do. Be sure you align it an pin it for safety. You may have to pick up a longer pin for that to go all the way through! BCB

Is it typically better to use a ski pole or a sling with floating connector that clips to the rear tie downs ? Ive heard that the slings work better since there is less stress on the connection point. Is there a BCB model that lends itself to tubing/skiing better than others?

Ive used the rope “sling” several times with tubes and skiers, and I really dont like it much. The one problem that I have is that the connection is very low on the transom and causes the rope to drag the water – esp with pulling tubes. When the rope drags, it throws water up in the face of the person on the tube, and it can also cause the rope to get pulled sideways when the tube slides from one side to the other. I dont have a ski pole on my boat, but it seems that the pole would get the rope up much higher and eliminate this problem. It would probably help a lot with pulling skiers also. Yeah the apparatus that hooks to the eyes on the back of the boat is horrible. DPT205 is exactly right. The tube rider gets a face full of water and with three young ones, I will be pulling tubes and skis during the summer for a lot of years to come and water in the face isnt going to cut it.
