They would have had to have been weighed to have established a big bass weight. On the tie for 226th, apparently neither team weighed one for big bass, as the two fish only weighed 4.09 together, averaging about 2 pounds a piece. And both teams had two fish, thus that tied and there was no big bass weight, thus a tie for 226th place existed between two teams. Those teams being # 412 of Don Moore and Steven Sallee, and the # 55 team of Brad & Sheryl Dake with 4.09 pounds each. Since there was no 227th place, the stipulations on the Wild Card are printed with “Move Down the List for double ups”. This was established as the only major prize a team could win years ago was the Big Bass, and only one of those. The First Place team of the Schnables, thus forfeited the Third Big Bass on Day Two, as they had the Big Bass on Day One. The reason that stipulation was created for the Optional Entry was years ago one team had Two (2) large fish on one day. Which meant they took home two (2) big bass awards. This also then began applying to the Wild Card once it was begun. Though you could still again win one Wild Card and Big Bass. Though no more. We hope this explains the situation and that you understand the reason you were not 227th. The team in the tie with you for 226th would have had to weighed a larger fish or more fish, then you would be 227th with 4.09 and they would have been 226th with 4.09. Thus on tie. This was determined much prior to the program beginning and was not a show item. It was asked prior to the program for a rules, policy and regulations verification. The entire list of weights is on line in the format with weight, and you can verify any of the weight totals for the event. We hope this fully explains how this occurred. And we do understand how the question exists with the tie of 355th place. Though in the case of these two teams that was not the situation. Thank You for participating! BCB
