New Cat owner here in LA…with a question!

Hey guys...Im a new Cat owner here in Pineville, LA. Not my first Cat. Used to have a 89 PII, but now have a 07 Puma w/ 250 ProXS. I love the boat and motor! Best boat I have owned thats for sure. Anyway, to my question...what prop would be best for a good hole shot and top end with this set-up. I have a slidemaster jack and currently run a 26p Tempest, but it hits the rev limiter. No idea on speed as Im currently setting up my electronics, but its pretty fast. I have read a thousand threads on this and it seems the best options are 26 Fury, 27 Fury, or 27 Trophy. What about a 27 Tempest? I know this is a hard one to answer, buy what would yall recommend? Thanks,Josh Sikes

Ive only run it once and havent started any jack plate adjustments yet – got it nearly buried just to make sure I dont swap ends with it. Ran 80.5 with near full tanks and empty wells last week at around 5900 rpms. It will probably come up a bit as the weather starts to cool. In comparison, the 26 topped out at 79 and 6150 rpms. Im thinking Ill run the 27 during October to May, then go back to the 26 when the humidity gets bad. Interestingly, I really cant tell much difference in the hole shot with either prop. Maybe next Thursday before the time changes would be a good time to meet late afternoon.

Hi there 07 PumaGot a question. How far is your set back with the slidemaster.I have a 07 Puma also with an E-tec 250 running a 27 Trophy plus.Not really pleased with performance, top end, but has a great hole shot.My next challenge is checking set backs. Have a 6″ slidemaster on boat now.Running 3.5″ below pad. Best I can get is 72MPH at 5980 RPM.All help greatly appreciated.
