Handrail Light on 2006 Puma

I had mine replaced also. I had to pull it out. The wire has probably broken off. Or in my case the end cap with the LED light had come off of the end of the rail. I had to fish the wire out. It has probably fallen off or broke off and is down in the side wall. Wait till it starts to get dark out and turn the rail lights on and see if you can see the light back in the side wall. That is what I did to be able to fish it out with a wire. If the wire is broken off and down in the side wall get a kid with a long skinny arm to fish it out for you. Both of mine were out and I also have an 06 Puma. Finally was able to get the one on the passenger side back out and the connection was really bad. Once I cleaned it up and put it cack together that side worked fine. Rather than screw with the wire on the other side I just puled 2 new wires and connected them to the side that worked. Was a really easy fix. The front rail gets the light through the back rail and that is where the light and connection is located. Just be carefull when re-installing, there is not much clearance and it is easy to break the connectionThey look awesome at nightJohn

Thanks for the input guys. Will look for the LED tonight, then attempt to access the connection tomorrow. BCB said the rial replacement was $60, hope I find just a connection problem.

Follow Up – Got lucky. While looking for the wiring for the handrail, I noticed the wife”s dry storage light wasnt coming on, so I went ahead and repaired the frayed wiring. I noticed what seemed to be an extra ground wire in the bunch, so after finishing the repair I tried the handrail light and……Like I said I got lucky. Time to buy a lottery ticket.
