Tooling Gelcoat is harder and has different properties, though it will not help you. It also has no UV stabilizers. We have seen LineX or RhinoLiner sprayed in a taped off pattern on the keel. that is not an easy one, though apparently does solve the scraping. Just dont get it too far back there.

thanks BCB. The Basscat dealer in Temple, Tx claims good results with Line-X. Would about a foot behind the keel be ok for Line -X?

Yes that should be fine. Though your transducer might loose some signal on the front locator. You can find the transducer with a stethoscope on the keel with the depth finder on.

Thanks BCB! I have a Minn Kota with Universal Sonar so the transducer issue could be handled if it is a problem. Would putting Line -X all the way to the back(transom) and about 1 foot wide cause any problems with boat handling (P4) ??

UHHHHH yeah it would drive like. Well let me stop myself since I have never driven a boat with such a coat of line-x or rhino liner on it I can not say how it would run. Although the is a product that airboats put on the bottom which from what I hear is like teflon and will protect the hull.

Is there anything new for protecting the bottom from abrasion due to beaching?
