Prop Gurus?

Ok, so i lost my prop and have been trying a few new ones. I was told my old 4 blade was a 23p. Gave it to a buddy and put my old 3 blade on. Now he lost the boat and my prop with it. So i got another 4 blade (dont know make of prop, prop shop locally worked it) 23 p and have lost almost 12 mph, holeshot in about 2 seconds and motor is screaming before any trim. Last night the dog woke me up around 3 and havent been back to sleep yet. so laying in bed oing math in my head and tell me if this is accurate before i go shell out several 100s on another prop. do you think my other prop was a 25p? the 25 theoretically is supposed to travel 25" every rpm so the difference between 23-25 is 2" X 6000 RPM=12,000 inches every minute or 1000 feet X 60minutes=60,000feet per hour / 5280ft= 11.3 MPH? Am i doing this correctly?What say you? And Shap, would love to discuss this with you as this is a 2.5L and heard you had some awesome #s with the 2.5sThanksBrad

Prop pitch inches x .90 or .92 (8% – 10 % slippage) x RPM / Gear case ratio (1.8666 on 2.5 200 EFI) / 63,360 (inches in a mile) x 60 (minutes or seconds) = appx. performance. Do the math…

Brad, Could you refresh my memory on your setup. I cant remember what year rig you have. I can tell you this, If you were running 70 plus before it definately was not a 23″ pitch. Unless you were turning upwards of 6400, 6500 rpms. It was most likely a 25. Id be glad to talk with you although Im no expert by any means. chris do you have the 3.0 liter efi and if so what are your setup heighths and prop you run cause i have a classic w/3.0 liter also thanks
