Ramp-N-Clamp automatic boat latch?

Does anyone here have any experience with the Ramp-N-Clamp automatic boat latch?I have a BassCat Margay and it is almost impossible to load without it sliding back about 4 inches unless you crank the strap tight before pulling out.Once it is loaded and in the parking lot; it is impossible to crank up tight because it is designed with a hook in the stern hull that cannot be cranked onto the skids.Have had several different bass boats in last 40 yrs and never had this problem.The Ramp-N-Clamp automatic boat latch looks like the answer; but would appreciate any input. Dont want to lay out the cash unless it will do the job.Thanks and God Bless

I had a MasterCraft Pro Star 190 that had what sounds like a similar device on the trailer. It was a factory installed latch and worked flawless for me.Dan

If the boat is sliding back as you go to the front of the boat to get out, you have the trailer too deep especially on a steep ramp. I have the same problem with my Classic. Resist the temptation to wet the bunks and leave at least 12-18″ of the outside shorter bunks out of the water. Should solve the sliding problem. Good luck, let us know how you make out.

Gonefishin55, are you saying that you are pulling your boat away from the ramp without your winch strap snugged up?? It should be snug before pulling out.

Trailer is shallow enough that I have to power up to get it snug and the only way to snug the winch strap is to get wet before pulling out. OK for summer; but not with colder water. The Ramp-N-Clamp may be my answer. Still want to hear any input.Thanks and God bless

I have always just powered up to the bow stop, climb down to the trailer tounge, hook the winch strap and tighten it up. Usually I can just step off tounge on to ramp but sometimes i climb into the bed of my pickup. Ed

Its a Spin off the old Boat Buddy and they latch your rig, though they may not hold the bow taught if you only use that.
