The PII was “the boat” when it was at the top of the food chain in the late 80s-mid 90s. Back then, 19footers were the rage. I ran a 97 PII and loved it, it was very good and very capable to handle most situations, with an experienced driver. That being said, there really is no comparison between the two. The Jag is bigger, broader, heavier than the PII. If you are looking for a big open water rough water boat, the Jaguar can handle all situations, again with an experienced driver. The ONLY thing suspect would be the 225 EFI. It is a solid motor but may be on the small side for very rough conditions. People ran them for years with 225-250+hp and they do fine. I would have no problem running a Jag/225 here in Arkansas or areas around here, but Great Lakes/ Potomac type waters are a little different. That Jag with a 225 EFI will use more fuel/oil than one with the 250 or an Optimax or other DFI branding. Would take more of the rpm range to run 70 than a 250 would, imho.Last edited by jignpig on February 28th, 2011, 9:44 pm, edited 1 time in total.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
