BayCat – JackPlate and Prop Info

I have a 03 BayCat with a 225 Opti. To me, the boat handles and runs good now. 60 mph on Gps with meduim load and throttle left. Does a Manual Jackplate really help the performance? I am running a 23p three blade Mirage. Good holeshot, mid and top but when trimmed and running I have to ease up on the trottle to keep it from running over 5300 to 5500. Anybody running a prop with more pitch? Or how are other BayCats out there set-up.. Thanks

This will all depend on how your rig is running, which is apparently not bad? Though is it slipping on those RPMs over 5300 or are you just worried about turning it that hard. It will be fine to turn it to the rev limiter at 5750, or 5650 on some of these engines. BCB

Like they said I would prop to run around 5700 rpms is that GPS speed or speedo?? I have the same boat with a 250proxs and with my Bravo I I am running around 65 gps at 5600rpms, I slung a blade on it and had to use my 23 tempest backup and it will not run but 61gps but will break your neck out of the hole!
