2005 Johnson 175 URGENT HELP NEEDED-FOLLOW UP

Continuous Warning signal. Check oil and water pressure they seem OK. Any suugestions on what Im looking for( Besides my owners manual). Need to move fast got BTB Txs nest week end to qualify for Anglers Choice Region 4 TOC

You will need a dealer if you have oil in the system. You can try resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery. Though we think that is futile. It sounds like a VRO warning and that is a dealer required item. They may be able to read that with their lap top. Who is your closest dealership? BCB

My closest BC dealer is probably Robbins. Does he service johnson OBs? The boat is a 94 PIIn which I repowered in July of 04 so the OB is out of warranty. I just have to find my nearest johnson Authorized service center. Thanks for the help.

The sticker under the seat says continuous signal and motor not operating above idle indicates overheating. But OB seems to be passing water fine

It may be a heat signal, though dont count on the water outlet to tell you pressure and flow. It is a tell tale, though other passages like a thermostat can still be plugged in the block. You could try to remove a thermostat and look for a blockage your self, though it would not be worth a power head to us. A 94 P2 has the digital dash, is the heat signal showing on the dash. Or it may have been disconnected by the new installing dealership. It will work fine in tandem with the other signals. BCB

I suspected overheating when it first happened. After putting boat back on the trailer I removed abnd cleaned the clogged outlet. I put the boat back in the water started the OB and it was streaming just fine. Made a short run got up on plane and signal started again and stream stopped and boat would not get up on plane. Went home flushed OB, started with garden hose thru the OB outlet let it run for 5 minutes and now its idling at 1500 RPM,but no warning signal.

Bassplaquer,My Johnson 225HO did this same thing once upon a time. Does the check engine light come on? Mine did and it indicated a fuel occlusion. Actually, this was as simple as a kinked fuel line in front of the primer bulb. Imagine that! I went all the way to the shop for them to tell me the hose was kinked.Would be nice if that is all that it was.Good Luck,BassCatDan

Thanks Dan. That would be great, I should be so lucky. Still waiting for diagnosis, was promised it would be ready for me by friday. Fingers are crossed. Tight lines.
