FOX 6 in Birmingham had a clip of Kevin Short practicing in the snow at Lay Lake today. Quite a bit of snow on Kevin and the Cat. That Cat looked very nice covered in snow. Best of luck to all BassCat team in Classic. Water leaving Logan Martin into Lay is LOTS/MUDDY/COLD.

I fished logan martin last year after a big rainfall event. They use logan martin as a sort of holding pond. I swear it got up to at least 12 feet above full pool. The ramp docks were totally submerged. We were skipping under the roofs of docks! I saw a whole dock with guard rail and all just floating out in the middle of the lake. We actually were catching fish off of back porches. I wish I had my camera because I had never seen anything like that and Ive been fishing for 40 years.

bass1958, Logan Martin floods at times but 12 would float me down the river in my recliner. Along the Coosa River Weiss, Henry Neely and Logan Martin are considered storage lakes to control flooding by Alabama Power. Lay, Mitchell,Jordan, Yates and Thurlow are run-of-river lakes and water levels stay about the same all year. Alabama Power has a flood easement to elevation 473.5. Summer (full pool) at LM is elevation 465 normal winter level is 460. Small flooding of 3 to 4 above summer is not uncommon. My boat house 1/9/2009 elevation 469.84 almost 5 over normal summer. Record high 475.31 on 4/6/1977 was in numerous homes.

12 was probably an exaggeration. We launched at Lakeside and the water was just on the gravel road leading to the ramps so whatever that was. One man asked me to move his boat out of the dock because he was afraid it would hit the roof and he had no way to get out since the board walk was flooded.My phone doesnt have a camera. Im old school
