I have been wondering the same thing with my new cat, what youre looking at is what Im thinking about getting.I need to think of something to put over the trolling prop cause it always drifts into the piling,,,I fish by myself most of the time
I wish you guys all the luck with that in the world. It seems no matter what you do, your kitty is going to get some kind of scratch and it will hurt you more than the boat. This happened to me at a dock. Wind blew me under the dock and it popped a nickel size hole out. I was sick. Then someone scraped the side of my fender and cracked it. Crap. I bought a pair of the curved Taylor boat bumpers and attatch one to the hand rail and one to the front cleat every time I have to tie my boat to any courtesy dock. These curved bumpers come in white or black and can be found in Cabelas, Bass Pro, ans Overtons catalogues. They have saved my kitty from many encounters with possible dock rash, especially on windy days or whenever there is a lot of boat traffic/wake action. Ill try and post a pic later.
If you have posts to contend with, buy some plastic guttering from Home Depot and tie to the post. Works great if you bump the side of the boat, no dings, scuffs or scratches. jwt

I did the same thing for my new PIV. Those curved bumpers will also help prevent your boat from going under a dock with the water is drawn down.
I like to idea that they use for the clip around for jet skis. They are kinda like the Tayor-Made with flex joints. These would be great if they were bigger
Thanks for all the great suggestions! It sounds like the curved Taylor-Made bumpers work great. I want to make sure to order the correct bumper. Are these the correct bumpers? If so, what size (7″x23″ or 5″x14″) do you guys recommend? Thanks again!
