John1112,I fish Fayette regularly. The water is not as warm as it used to be. It is cooled before it is discharged now and has been for a few years. Dont get me wrong it is still considerably warmer than most lakes but not like it used to be. I remember pulling fish from Fayette during the winter time and as soon as they came out of the water they had steam comming off of them because of the cold air temps. If you can get out there and catch them schooling you can catch them all day long on a clear topwater. The clear Boy Howdys work very well on that lake. The schooling has become more and more sporadic over the years but you can still have some fun with them when you can locate them. Like most lakes during the winter time the fishing is better deep. That seems to hold true on Fayette most of the year though. I always have the most success dragging a Carolina Rigged Lake Fork Top Dog Lizard in watermelon/chartreuse or a green pumpkin trick worm. The good thing about Fayette is that it is only about 2200 surface acres or so and it is usually pretty easy to find good quality fish. Try fishing at the end of the baffle dyke. The water is about 18-25 feet right off of the rocks. You should be able to catch some good fish there,. Good luck.Jason
