I like several things about em… 1. put em in gear and there is no almighty “THUNK”. Because the exhaust at idle is blowing around the prop and it is far easier to start it spinning when in a cloud of exhaust bubbles. 2. They will run very high without excessive slipping, reducing friction on the lower unit. 3. They are extremely strong The only issue most have is that hole-shot is generally worse because the prop is ventilating from the get-go, and at roll-over (where the bow starts to drop back down) they often will blow out again. And running at the height a chopper can reach, high-speed blowout is a potential issue if you touch the steering wheel at high speeds… If you have ever done that, you know what I mean.
