On 2007 PII, single console, can I put the stereo on the side of the drivers console. By this I mean cut a hole there, use a weatherproof cover, and support it with straps underneath the console?
my 06 p4 came with the stereo mounted in the inboard side of the drivers console. it has a smoked flip up cover that pops up and slides in. pic shown with it covered
That pic is what I was thinking of. Looks like I would lose that light that is there currently on mine. Running wires for the stereo and speakers is going to be tough.
Running the wires will be the easy part. Cutting that gaping hole in the sides of your boat are the tough parts. Go through the gunnel and through the back across the transom and up. Cut your speaker hole first and it will be a lot easier to get too. Good luck. Judd Lasiter
No doubt Judd……lol. I cut the holes in mine and I sat there and just gazed down at the saw for half the night. Measure 3 times and cut once. Then cut it smaller than you should and file it the rest of the way. lol. But absolutely cut the holes first and with a fish tape running the wires around and back is the easiest part.
