Where is a good starting point for set up on the BC hulls. Also I have heard a lot about the Tempest Plus props on the 250s and was looking for feed back, I am running a 26 p Trophy and wanted to know about the bow lift when using the Tempest Plus.

Bob, Im no help on the setup, but I still say try a Fury and youll never look back. Ill have a 26 in a couple months that I want to try on my PIV / 200HO at sea level, I dont think it would run it at altitude. If you still have not tried one by then I could lend you that to try. Like the recommendations on BBC, I think you should try a 25 pitch Fury, either the 25 or 26 will be the one. Mike

Mike, thank you mike for the offer but no prop will run right if the engine isnt set at the right place on the transom. I am running at just above 74 with the 26 pitch Trophy but I am not getting much bow lift from it. This engine seems to have been moved so I want to get the starting point and I can go from there. What I need…and requested is the correct starting measurement for setting the engine. Am I looking at 3 1/4″ from the pad……higher, lower……

Bob, on my 225 Jag the slidemaster inner and outer plates are flush and has run great and plenty of water pressure, so I never had to measure or change it. I believe the Fury will give you more lift, I promise it will improve the holeshot. If you are running the slidemaster manual plate, I believe that BCB recommends starting at flush and going up from there in 1/4 increments. I went from a 25 Trophy to a 24 Fury. Good luck, Mike

On my 08 Puma, flush puts me at 3 5/8″ below pad. Good luck with your set up.

Thank you both, the boat is in storage but I think that the engine was sitting higher than either of you mentioned I was running a 25P Trophy on the 225 and bumped it up to a 26P on the 250..and I am turning 5750 rpms and getting just a hair over 74 with both fuel tanks filled, 2 big guys and all of our gear and that was with no plugs in the prop or a blowout righ installed.. I am interested in seeing what it will run light this spring.
