New years day I awoke to find my new (07) P4 had broke free from its mooring and had washed onto the shore. A storm had blown in during the middle of the night and the lake got really nasty with 3 to 5 footers crashing on the bank. The boat was completely full of water and would not budge. I turned on the bilge pump and went to get the trailer. when I came back the pumps were not working and the waves were crashing over the passenger side of the boat which was now listing very bad on the passenger side. I then noticed that there was lost of sand on the deck of the boat and in the bilge (no wonder the pump didnt work anymore). Several hours lates the waves subsided and I was able to bail out the water enough to get her off the bank and onto the trailer. Every compartment wat totally full of water and lots of sand. I guess my question is, will water get into the gas tanks through the vent or the filler cap as they were submerged? The bottom of the boat did get a little scuffed up but nothing too bad. All the water and sand has been washed out, pumps flushed and everything is in working order. Should drain the fuel and oil to be safe?
