Not sure but I heard they dont stick to the purple and yellow trucks and boats…I would repaint the hummer if I was you Simple green is what I have used…believe it or not bassboatsaver and a little elbow grease will work too.If you dont like those 2 then take it down to the local car wash and before you go thru tell them you want all the bugs off the front and go from there.Judd Lasiter

Tideman I have not found a way to keep them from sticking, but I have found a very easy way to remove them. I bought some green stuff called Bug B Gone and all I do is spray it on let it soak for a few minutes scrub with a windshield washer or a wash brush and then rinse with water hose and they come right off. I also was told by one of my customers in Poplarville, MS that a Downy dryer sheet will wipe them right off. I live in south MS and I am also a sales rep down here and these things used to drive me crazy until I started doing this. My dad spray pam cooking spray on the front of his truck and he told me they just slide right off, I have not tried this yet, but he is very ticky and if he does it; it must work.

O.K., I have this one wrapped up. Glissen makes a Teflon polish for boats that you just wipe on and it dries clear and hard almost like a clear coat. I think it is called Hull Magic. It works better than anything I have seen to keep anything from sticking to your Truck or Boat. Now, When you need to get those horrible little creatures off there are 2 ways that will work wonders and I gaurantee they will work.1) Get a drier sheet (bounce, or the like) Wet it with warm water and wipe those bugs away. It will not scratch your paint I promise.2) Mix a little Arm and Hammer baking soda in some warm water to dissolve the baking soda and those love bugs will just melt right off of there. This is more effective than the drier sheet but some people have a problem with the baking soda. They think it will scratch. If you dissolve it in warm water first you will have no scratch to worry about. And, I have used it as a paste without a scratch on a black vehicle.
