Eyra vs. Pantera IV

My first real performance Bass Boat was the PIV I bought last fall, before that was a 1993 Javelin 379DC that topped out at 50mph. To be honest I would have wrecked a few times had it been anything less forgiving. I cant speak about the Eyra, which is an awesome boat, but I do know that the PIV has been awesome for me to learn performance boats on. Theres my two cents, you will get much better responses from the experts around here. These guys really know their stuff and are super helpful.- Chaz

The PIV is an awesome boat it has the big boat ride and will hit the 70+ in speed. The Eyra is a whole diffrent animal bigger boat and alot faster 80+ if set up right awesome boat as well. If you are just starting out the PIV might be a good one for you as you said not looking to going 80mph but in return buy what you can afford b/c there are days you will wish you had a bigger boat as you get better at boating. As far as Fishability both are great best thing to do is test drive both boats and then pick whats best for you good luck.

Ive owned a PIV and now am in a Eyra. The Eyra with a 200HP motor will be as fast or slightly faster with a 200HP motor then a PIV. Now with a 250 motor your are talking another level and 80 is routine for me running solo in the summer sweltering heat. Theres an Eyra for sale on BassCats website. Might want to check it out. You cant go wrong with either boat. Good luck!

My Erya up to about 73 is a breeze to drive. It rides like its on rails. I havent owned a PIV but have driven one and it to is a fantastic ride. I think the Erya may be easier to drive with some room up on top if you want it…

Never been in a P4 but everyone that owns one loves it! Now I did get to run Flyswatters Eyra all day and that is one fine ride! We werent in any rough water but it took boat wakes soooooooo good!! The break in wasnt complete at that time but I ran it up to 77 and it drove like a caddy. Id save myself a trade in the future and get the Eyra so youll have that 80mph+ when you get ready for it.

If your looking for information about a P4 and Eyra with 200 than Flyswatter and I can help. I can drive mine at 70 and have no chine walk. It drives like a dream. If you looking for the luxury of a big boat but dont want to go 80 and want to save a bunch of money then I would go with the Eyra. It is a little more stylish too!! If you are looking at comparing a P4 with a 200 and Eyra with 250 then that is a different story. I would decide on what you are really interested in and what you feel is best for you. I have ran my Eyra with 200 for a year and it was a solid performer. I have been told a millions times that I should have got a 250 but in my situation I am glad I went with the 200. It saved me money. Mine is for sale now and it is just because I am wanting to upgrade year models.

We promote the Eyra with the 200 engines and they are great rides, compare the pricing of the P4 and the Eyra equally equipped. That is a part of what you need to estimate the differences.

Never been in an Eyra. This is something else you might want to consider — top end, WOT is not what youre going to be driving regularly. Its nice to punch your ride once in a while but no matter how fast your boat is, youre not going to spend much time at the top. What is most important to me is how easily whatever boat you have cruises at a speed. My last boat (P-2) was a low 70s top end boat. But Id say about 50 or so was a comfortable cruising speed on both motor RPMs and ride. 50 felt to me a speed in that rig I could drive all day. With my new Puma (250 XS top end low 80s), Id say low 60s is a comfortable cruising speed.

Ive had two P4s, and they are all the boat anyone needs, imho. I would have another one in a minute ! Nimble fishing rig, with big boat attitude in big water, tons of storage, huge deck, effecient, one of a kind 195″ fishing machine ! I love the P4s !
