Ray, I had the same problem on my maximum. I couldnt take the racket and floppiness any longer so I took the whole thing off and found the bushing in the bow were wore out. I cut the bushings in half to use as spacers for the big holes they leave behind on the bow. I went to Lowes and got me some long stainless bolts and fender washers and bolted the base straight to the bow thru the bushings and it made a world of difference. Not sure this is recommended, but after talking with others that said the bushings dont last long, its what I decided to do and works good and solid now.
