Since there is not a board for fishing reports I will use this one. Does any one fish Watts Bar? I will be traveling to Watts Bar at the end of the month and wanted some information about the lake, havent been there before. If anyone could help be greatly appreciated.

I fish the Bar about once a week. When might you be in the area and I might be able to help you some. Where are you coming from?

I will be coming down on the evening of the 28th from Cincinnati, Ohio. We have our club classic on the 29th and 30th. I will be staying at the Terrace View Resort and Marina.Under our club rules we are not allowed to pre fish but can survey the lake by boat.I have been on the internet and cant find much as to fishing reports, I have found that the lake is at normal pool will this stay at normal pool through the end of the month? What are the popular baits? I suspect the bass will be chasing shad in to the creeks at this time.I have a lake map and GPS unit on the boat. I am running a Puma with a 225hp so getting somewhere shouldnt be a problem.Any info you can give me will be greatly appreciated. We fish all the major lake through out Kentucky so if I can ever help you please let me know.

You are staying at a good place. My uncle used to own that resort and it is located in a good place to take off from. Just to be honest right now fishing is tuff and its only been taking 6 to 8 lbs to win the local wildcat tournys around here (3 fish limit in these tournys). It just so happens that is the same day I have a classic on watts bar coming out of hornsby hollow. The only pattern Ive been able to get that holds any keepers is throwing a shakyhead in the main channel on banks that have a shelf on them that runs out 12-15 ft deep and then falls off pretty hard to 25-30 ft. The better fish seem to be holding right on the top of the drops right now. The water has been so hot (90s on avg.) that the fish seem to be holding here until night and then moving up and feeding on the shad at night. The daytime bite has been slow, but the water seems to finally be cooling down so maybe this will pick back up some. Dont forget about the smallmouth. This lake has plenty of them and you might try to target them early on the topwater bite out on the main part of the lake on the points. I cant catch a good fish right now at all back in the creeks or pockets. All my fish have come out on the main part of the lake. I may fish a tourny tonight and Ill update you if anything changes on my part. Ill let you know something more hopefully before you head this way.
