As BCB said, you need to provide more info. A 175 certainly ought to be pushing 70. If it is really a 175 and not a tired 175 that is not even making 150. What about the prop? An old prop loses pitch, gets nicks, may have different pitch/cup on each blade, etc. Engine height could be too low. Bottom of boat could be ragged or damaged. There are a ton of things to check, so you have to start somewhere. Good start would be to take it to a truckers gas station that has a weigh scale and weigh the thing to make sure it isnt extra-heavy for some reason. Then check the motor and prop. Then the setup. Etc.I helped a guy that bought a used Stratos late last summer. A 294 with a 150. Ran like a dog. Turns out it had a 28″ predator prop, and could not pull it even to 5K rpm.
