Topic: trailer step and pole install

Has anyone installed the aftermarket trailer step and pole. Got mine in and was trying to get it to go on the trailer but it wont slip on. It appears as though the winch stand may be .25 of an inch to far forward for clearance. There are some flanges on the bottom of the trailer on both sides that look like they could be cut to allow it to slide on. Has anyone ran into this? I just dont want to start cutting on trailer if there is something Im missing. Mike

I added this to my 2001 Pantera Classic and ran into several fit issues. I had to drill new holes and cut off part of the flanges to make it fit, but it does and looks good. Just took some patience and hard work.God Bless, Stephen

do a search on here. There was a guy that sent me pics that helped out. Best thin I put on my boat but it was a little tough. You have to be careful drilling through the tongue because of the wiring that goes through there. Taking the winch apart to mount the pole was a pain but not to bad. Stick with it cause I love that pole on the trailer

Just my luck, Im snowed in and was planning on installing this tomorrow with the responses I got this evening. Well just my luck I was hoping to get this installed tomorrow while Im snowed in here in Kansas but I just read where BassCat has shut her down for tomorrow. I was going to call them to see what they had to say about the install. Puma Jim, I havent had any luck searching for any information in past posts, you dont happen to remember who it was that sent you the pics. for your install do you? Did you end up having to cut the flanges off the bottom of the trailer to get it to fit.
