Topic: Navionics Platinum Card Questions

I bought a new Navionics Platinum card for my HDS7 Gen2 over the weekend. The old Premium + card was just plug and play. When I put the new card (Platinum) in it did not have any contour information and would not zoom. Im contemplating taking the card back but was wondering if I could get some help here. Do I need to update the map/activate it for it to properly work? Please let me know if you have experienced this issue.

I am interested to see some replies here. I put a Navionics Platinum Hot Maps card in (Lakes East) and the only lake I have been on was Kinkaid near Murphysboro, IL and it looked like an aerial photo. Part of the lake was not even showing up. No contour lines, nothing like Lake Insight at all. Dan

Im planning on updating my Lowrance software version and updating my Navionics Platinum maps to see if this corrects the problem. I am currently seeing the same exact thing you are.

That is good to know I am not the only one experiencing this. Have you called? I would have but have not had the time to be put on hold for long periods. Keep me informed of anything you find that does not pop up on this thread and I will do the same. I hope to get on a different lake next Tuesday.Dan

I am using a Platinum south card but in a Humminbird 998 with no problems on any lakes Ive been on in La, Tx, or Ar.

When I bought mine it was also a disappointment….then I updated the card online and was very happy……I think they send out a card with maps and you get five free updates for the first year… You should have received a normal sized SD card carrier to slip in the provided SD card to USB adapter. look up the provided web sight and update the card….was easy…Elwood…..Bass Cat Proud
