Id contact sherm or the basscat service and see what they have to say. This is a component that usually just doesnt fall apart, its usually something like excessive pressure causes, a boat cover being slung over the console and falling on the trim switch causing it to break. Not saying its not or was not a faulty component, just saying if it broke by chance of wrongful doing then id just buy a new one.
