Floor Drain Cover Replacement

Anyone ever replace the old square metal floor drain cover with the new circular plastic one? If so, what did you use to enlarge the hole?I have a 2006 puma

I tried on my 07 Classic (replace metal with black plastic), the screw holes dont match up thus it didnt work. I should have looked more closely before ordering but think it was in the winter and boat put away. I wasnt going to drill holes to make it work so if anyone needs a black plastic one, send me a PM with your address and Ill mail it to you. No charge.

I have not yet but plan to do it. I am waiting until I get my carpet replaced and will fill the old holes with some silicon and drill new holes. I have dry fit mine and it was a tight fit but it went in the existing hole. Mine is a 2004 Cougar.

Probably be better then the metal one that tends to bend and close up. Have to go in screw driver once in awhile to bend metal back to form.

It seems like the inner diameter of the new plastic one I ordered is maybe 1/2inch or so bigger than the existing hole I have. Wondering what to use to bore out the hole.

Well, a hole saw is out of the question…youll never be able to keep it centered. One option would be to mask the cutting area with tape to avoid splintering the glass, and use a jig saw with a very fine toothed blade. You could fill the old screw holes with either silicone or some of the putty like epoxy that you knead together, then fill the holes…its the consistency of play dough, and hardens quickly.

Someone else mentioned using a zip saw to cut out access hole in bow to give access to under the deck so they could complete an mount install for electronics. Maybe that might work. Ive never used one so dont know the advantages.
