Purchased rig last season, but had zero time to tweak. Currently looking for suggestions as to best prop to pick up while lakes are iced over in anticipation of more setup time come spring. Havent been able to come up with much info in regards to Cat/Rude combo.2004 Pantera Classic&200 RudeHo, 6″ manual plate, shaft currently 4.5″ below pad, 13.5×27 Renegade, GPS: 70 mph @ 5400rpm 15 psi with just me and full gas tank.

We would try a 26 or 27 Trophy and adjust the hole shot with PVS and ventilation ring. That was our original set up on the boat for Bass & Walleye with an E-Tec. Though the new 25 Raker ran good on top, it also was not the friendliest driver and burned much more fuel.BCB

This isnt a direct help but Ive run a Cougar with a 225HO for the last three years. I did allot of experimenting. The 4 blade Trophy was by far my favorite prop. It does everything well. You do have to experiment with the PVS vent plugs to get the best hole-shot. That is one of the things that make the Mercury props so great. I use a 28″ small hub Trophy on my rig with two small hole and two medium hole plugs. My hole shot is quick (only 4-5 seconds!) and smooth! Top speed was awesome too (76-78 with full loads and 79-81.5 when Im alone). With the four standard large hole plugs I had allot of blow out. With most of the holes plugged the hole shot was extremely slow. The difference is amazing.So with the 200HO and 19 boat I bet the 27″ or 26″ will be the ticket. Good luck.

Hey Ben a good friend of mine turns a 26 trophy nicely on his p4 with a 200 opti(2 guys full gear/full tank 71 gps)- so much so that I wish I had the same prop on my p4 with a 200 ho (di not etec). My boat will turn the 26 raker(not raker II) upto about 73 mph with me alone and all gear 1/2 tank or so. Took some getting used to but it will flat out book once you learn to drive it and get enough air under the boat. IT IS ROCK SOLID at this speed. I would however get the 26 trophy or 27 trophy as discussed above because I think the top end may be even better than my raker- not to mention better hole shot and easier to drive on the top end.C.O.D.
