Isnt there a company out there making synthetic boards specifically for boat trailers now? I thought I saw it when i was replacing my old bunks about 5 years ago.

There may be but it will not come close to fitting the Cat hull from what Ive seen on how its installed. Plus it is also tapered and trimmed.

I figured cypress would have to come from a real woodsman so they should be able to rip to proper dimensions

A few use cedar. The problem is cost. Cedar will serve this purpose well! Cost would be significant for a individual but overwhelming for the manufacture. My experience with runners is not the board but the carpet. The key to long lasting boards is drainage.

I was being facetious…aka a smartass. With the prices of the toys we enjoy sometimes the tried and true are not only practical but cost effective as well.But as you said, a few use cedar, so the OP could go the cypress route on his own and do the double carpet etc.
