Need some advise/ info on a boat cover

1998 Sabre single console 150 MercuryFirst to BcB, Can you tell me the dimensions of my boat for ordering a cover please. Second to everyone, Need some advice, pros/cons, and recommendations on a boat cover. Money is a Huge issue, because I do not have much of it. It would be a stretch to hit $300. I need a cover to protect it from the weather, (rain sun and snow) and to trailer it 3-4 times a year about 100 miles at highway speed. I think this sounds like a very tall order but Ive only bought Walmart covers for my past Stratos boat and do not know what to expect by spending 2-3 times the money. I want to protect this one a better and would like to get a few seasons use out of a new cover. I plan to have a tarp over the boat on top of the cover to help protect the cover from the sun as much as possible. Inside storage is not an option at this time.Thanks in advance!!!!

We suggest a simple dust or towing cover from parts. You can try and get a lesser cover from Aurora. You also might check Aurora and ask Dale or Brian for a non current leftover they may have on the shelf. They have several old covers of various brands left from cancelled orders and mistakes.

Thanks for the link smbass. Have you tried one of these? I looked on iboats but this one did not come up but it looks interesting!BcB I only saw 3 styles of covers on the parts site. I could afford the dust cover, but thought is was exactly that, only a dust cover. As for the others they were way out of my price range. I will give Dale or Brian a call, did not think there would be any chance they would have anything for a 14 years old boat. I know the boat is about 18 1/2 foot but I do not know the width and the boat seems wide for its length so I was afraid to order something. That is one of the things I love about the boat, it feels bigger that it should. I get out there and measure it.

That site looks good. Not sure if things changed much from 2009 to 2012? If not I might be a guinea pig on this one. Have you spoke with him to get feed back on his cover?

Those generic covers have not changed in decades and they are a simple dust cover. The light cover BCB basis sealed on the top. These are not in the link. Aurora will know more about our boat dimensions than you do, buzz them.

I keep on mentioning this cover to everyone who wants an “economical” cover. Take a look at Cabelas covers – those are the best covers for the money Ive come across especially if the prioritys to use it as a dust cover. Its advertised as a towing cover, too but I have no idea how well it does in that regard because Ive never towed with the cover on.Anyhoo, those covers run in the $175-250 range and come with a 10 year warranty, which really cant be beat considering the quality of the cover and the warranty.
