Need help mounting 1 bank charger to transom

My son is mounting a 1 bank charger to the transom as their is no other area left other than the back side of the livewell to mount it on a puma ftd. How thick is the transom and what size screw would you use for a noco 1 bank 10 amp charger. The 3 bank noco on it has some type of space behind it which is do not have. Using clips is not an option as the boat is moored in an covered area when not used inside a park on Toledo. Unfortunately my BassCat does not have a locking mechanism on the access to the bilge area to secure it so placing clips and using as a portable is not an option as it is moored on Toledo in a covered area and I have been told to lock anything you don’t want stolen. .

The lockable latches are available if you want them. They usually don’t lock the rear and they did till a couple years ago and they locks were seldom used.

The transom is think enough to manage a depth of 1” and seal the screw hole. The spacers are rubber pads and Lowe’s or Home Depot should be able to assist you if you need those.

Another choice: ¼-½” aluminum strip, wide enough to reach across two of the mounting bolts. Add 2 nuts to hold it, and you can mount to that plate with no holes in the fiberglass… I’ve seen this done by several different people over the years.

As a note, you will have issues with corrosion if you lock the battery compartment with the chargers plugged in. All that hydrogen has to escape somehow, along with other gasses released during charging.

Oldtimer57 the 3 bank is covering that area on 1 side screwed to transom and on the other side the power block. Have you or basscat boats ever seen one mounted in a small area in front of the gas tank in a little covy hole?

I mounted mine to the 2 aluminum stiffeners inside the transom, by removing the stiffeners drilling and tapping both, and adding an aluminum plate on which I mounted the charger.
