I’m sending this letter to whom it may concern at the factory. I just received notice from my boat dealer that the factory  has built my boat in the wrong model & it is going to take another month to get the write one in What really bothers  me the most is there is another boat out there that is going to look just like mine . That was one of the reasons why I specail order it . Or I would have just bought one off the show room floor.

I’ll tell you what. I had issues with my boat but the sincere attention BCBs had in correcting my problems won me over for maybe life.

MERCURY NUT, I know this is a disappointment. I know the old saying were all human, so were going to make mistakes isn’t going to make things any different. I too ordered my rig for the same reason you did, hoping no one in my area would have the same colors and details. After thinking about your situation, yes it would be a little depressing knowing my creation will go to someone else. I will also say that we all know this was a simple mistake that has probably happened before!! We can also say this is one of the few mistakes made by the best boat manufacturer in the world. Imagine the embarrassment!!! That being said, I could deal with this knowing there was no intent and that BCB’s will make it right, no matter what!!! Dude, it’s going to be okay!! One thing for sure, you will always know you are the creator of two beautiful Cats!!!!!!!!

We assume you have a green Cougar Advantage Elite coming, and the boat was immediately reproduced and is in production now. It was only delayed two days, and was previously bumped up eight days as other neededboat colors were not in stock for the scheduling, and for other reasons. Thus you are still five (5) days in front of those in the same order format.

So you are still ahead of schedule.

First off, welcome to the board and congrats on you ordering a new boat. You are going to LOVE it.

Something else that is worth thinking about…BCB has been around for 37 years and if you sit down and think about it unless it is a new color that they have never produced in the past (these are rarely released, but it does happen) the odds of your boat being the only one out there is VERY slim.

I also have tried to come up with some more unique colors on my last 3 boats but the last 2 I had people shoot me emails or call asking for the color codes and if I minded if they copied it. Look at it as a form of flattery that someone would want the same color boat you picked.

Sounds like BCB is getting you fixed up…accidents happen and what separates BCB from the other manufacturers is how they handle it, first off they admitted it here and that in itself is unique for this day and age.

For future reference pick up the phone and call them at the factory. They will fix any problem promptly with just a call. You would have been alot happier I can promise you that. They do go above and beyond anything you will ever see just call them next time and your problem will go away.

Actually, the dealership is where we prefer the individual to go to, which is what he actually did. Though the dealership only knew of the delay, not the moving up of the initial order. There probably was not an easy way to get the answer he was after. So he got it the best way possible.

We try to not release information concerning loads and shipments directly to the ultimate consumer, as the dealership has more obstacles to get the boat prepped and completed, plus scheduling other boats for deliveries, and receipt of completed loads to minimize freight charges. Thus the logistics on the other ends we are not familiar with.

In the past we have given a shipment date and had a new boat owner wondering why the dealer did not have time to prep his one boat for delivery, when there were others ahead of him. We try to minimize that issue. So please contact your dealerships and we will do our best to coordinate the deliveries with them.

For what it’s worth, I had ordered a 2000 Cougar in August 1999, with a color scheme I thought would be very classy and unique (Candy Apple Red and Malibu Red with Black boot). My boat was ready quickly, as it had been built with the conventional manufacturing techniques that BCB had been using up to that point on the Cougars.

I got a call from my friend, a BCB Sales rep, who said that Rick wanted me to run a boat with the new vacuum processing construction techniques, and they were going to build me another boat if I didn’t mind waiting. Believe me, the wait was definitely worth it. I got the new one several weeks later, and the original one went to a dealership on the West Coast.

By the way, my dealer at the time sold six boats that year with those same colors, and I have used them, or some deviation on three subsequent rigs. We were bringing the boat home from the Factory to Osage Beach to rig it, and as we were passing over I-44 on Hwy 5, a couple saw us and followed us all the way to Marty’s Marine. They wanted to buy the boat on the spot because of the colors…

You are going to LOVE that boat and what few fishing friends you have who can even keep up close enough to see you, will think it is awesome looking…………………………..from behind!

I would like to say thank you to all that have shown concern . And sorry to manufacture if I have upset any one in the process . It was the first inshall shock of finding out it was going to be a littel longer than expected. If I have to wait
a littel longer for the best bass boat out there then so be it. And yes at BCB You are right It is the black ,green& gold
advantage elite. And now I know that my boat dealer wasn’t playing a April fools joke on me.
