New boat build

had a dealer today not want to quote a price on a new boat because of such a long build time that the price now and price by the time I get the boat will change too much.that makes zero sense to me,what you say basscat?

Scott,

I built a boat and was given a price in June of 2018 and the boat arrived in October of 2018 for the same price. I suggest you might try another dealer.

Pricing has no plans on changing if you order a boat now. Yamaha and Mercury can change prices to us and those have been up to 7% increases on engines, which we must pass on. We feel the dealer is hedging as this is always a possibility.

At this time no announcements have been made by those companies or others.

I am currently waiting for my new build right now. I was told when I ordered it would be 8 to 12 weeks. We are past the 12 weeks and I was supposed to get my boat last week it got delayed because of another boat on the shipment. If I were to do it again I would just purchase something that is available the wait is brutal.

I’d suggest maybe a new dealer. Waiting on mine…. I have no idea when it’s coming…. Would love to know. Hoping it comes in with the dealers order end of September but I don’t think there has been word on it yet. The wait is very painful.

I ordered mine on July 27th and should be picking it up this Saturday. 6 weeks exactly. Much quicker than I anticipated!

They have not started hard on the dealership orders yet, so the wait is not that bad. As orders file in on the stocking orders the backorder and wait time situation will get longer.

Nothing is long now. The stocking orders are still being gathered. They have a push to close orders and until that closes its still not a long wait.
