Repower my 1996 Eyra

You’ve ventured off where no man has ever been before… that’s right, we don’t know of anyone on a 1996 Version 2 Eyra hull that has repowered with a 175 SHO. We would go 23 or 24 Vented T series.

I’m not sure what prop you are talking about when you say T series.  Is it the Yamaha V Max SHO ventless props or something else?

So I setup my 96 Erya with P to P at 3.25″ and my manual jackplate with 5″ setback. I ran a 25 pitch V Max SHO stainless 3 Blade yesterday and it runs ok still slow to get out of the hole but I’ve been told that the Yamaha 175 V Max 4 stroke is slow out of the hole.

Any suggestions on weather to raise engine or lower it or change to different prop?

It would be worth your time to look at a Mercury Bravo 1 FS in a 25P or a 26P depending where your RPM’s are now with your current prop. If you want hole shot and are wiling to give up a couple MPH, the Bravo is worth looking at.
