2001 Merc. 200hp Opti – trim up/down quit?

The trim is activated by a relay. The switches are not failing all at once, if the trim is clicking and not Operating then it’s either voltage or the electric motor from moisture while sitting we would guess.

We would remove the cowling and listen for the relays. Blue is up, Green is down on the wiring.

If I release the pressure by turning the relief valve screw counter clockwise will the motor manually lift enough to be able to remove the motor mate so I can let motor go to down position. How hard is it once down to pull back up – maybe with 2 or 3 guys? I realize this is close to 500# of motor. Also how many turns should be needed at the relief screw to release the pressure without turning out too far? Thanks

It is right at 3 turns of the screw, and you should be able to lift it yourself, or if back problems get another to help.

I have the motor in down position now by using the manual relief valve. I want to jump from the battery direct to the solid blue & green trim leads (see if trim will work direct) but cannot get the bullet connectors apart. Want to run batt. jumper wires direct to bullet lead, bypassing the trim motor, if I can get them apart. Assumed they would simply twist and pull apart but appear to be stuck? Anyway to get them loose without destroying, not wanting to have to put new connectors on as virtually no space to work with? Also not sure enough wire lead to allow replacing the connectors?
