Two issues with new boat

The bow roller doesn’t roll, it’s stationary and you can loosen it and shift it around.  Black rubber on the hull or center roller, would be from the side bumpers as those are black rubber. It’s softer and there is no significant wear there.

As for the IMMCO parts, we don’t know as we haven’t seen that one on new parts. There will be some coating peel due to pressure as it is going to get compressed through by the ratchet tension.

Depending on how often I use my boat, I usually replace the yellow bow roller at least once a year. I rotate it by hand to keep it from wearing in one specific area. The yellow from the roller will wipe off the gel coat using hand pressure. Not a biggie.

I am looking into what it would take to design a roller with bearings. This would help nearly ALL BCB model as as they are all power loaded.

My hooks on my rear straps have lost some of the coating. Its from the pressure of winching the rear down, and the boat shifting on the trailer.

I would buy it. Heck, I wonder if  I could spread the frame a little and slide some bearings over the shaft?

It would require a redesign of the roller. Same material on the exterior. The area for the bearings would have to be stiffer to resist flexing. Possibly a bushing running thru the roller connecting the two bearings, with the bolt running thru it.
