Caracal Owners – Co angler rod locker

To fellow Caracal owners who have Aurora covers with the pole on the passenger side to hold cover up.  If you look at those rod tubes and think it might be a good place to put one end of the pole in, when cover isn't in use while on the water, it's not......   I had always just laid it in the bottom of the co rod locker and for some stupid reason I decided to put it partially in tube.  Of course it slide down into the tube.  Guess what, that whole compartment is sealed off from bilge area as well as lift out storage bin.  To get to pole I had to remove four square head screws (as a long time Cat owner I always have all three sizes in boat) and try to remove plate holding tubes.  Still won't come out, yep light switch in the way so that has to be removed.  Still won't come out, pull twist etc. until tubes break off from white ends and you get the tube with your pole in it.  It was a PIA to say the least and of course it was almost 90 degrees plus humid after a long day on Champlain.  Anywhooo, don't put anything in those damn tubes that can slide in.  Just a PSA  to save someone else a headache.  And no, I did not try to put it all back together correctly, no one uses it anyway.
