Puma FTD is no longer available now having been replaced with the STS which weighs in at 2100 lb hull weight. BC is not listing weights on other premium models any more for some reason but if memory serves me right, the Cougar weighed around 1850 and Eyra slightly less being 3″ shorter. Wouldn’t think the maneuverability while fishing of Eyra and Cougar FTD would be much different. There is also the Cougar Hybrid which is a reworked Champion hull with super ride in rough water from what I’ve read from owner testimonies. I believe all the premium boats now have cut out to move TM foot pedal if so desired. You have a Cougar so you already know the deck layout and rough water handling quality. Eyra in same Class and the new STS is reported to be even better though it’s a wide hull design like the Caracal, Lynx, and monster Jag. The Puma still has the original deck layout concept but is a larger/wider rig. Equipped with the same 250 hp weight is going to influence speed for obvious reasons but none of the boats discussed are slow any means. The website has the layout for every boat and give a buyer a good feel of each design. If your cousin is looking at used boats (not easy to find like the new ones) I believe the Puma FTD was built through the 2020 model year. Same hull as the Cougar, just different deck layout. There are Youtube video’s of previous Puma FTD that you guys can look at to see layout. Good luck on your quest!
