Broken brake line connection…. Need advise!

I recently bought a used 2018 BassCat Caracal in overall excellent condition (170 hrs on engine).  I doubt the trailer has over 1,000 miles on it prior to me buying it.   I pulled it 1,200 miles across country to get it home.   I have only used the boat three times so far... I was out yesterday and noticed when my boat was off the trailer that I had a brake hose connection broken.  The broken connection is on the Starboard side on the back tire of the tandem trailer.  From what I can tell the brake hose simply goes across the back axle connecting the two back brake cylinders.  It appears the line has been broken for a while as it doesn't look like a fresh break.   I pulled the boat home yesterday after fishing approx. 70 miles and the brakes seem to work just fine.   Is this a serious issue?   Should I not use it anymore until I can get it fixed?   I can't help but wonder if I just pulled this boat across country with this problem.... the brakes seem to work fine. Please help... any expert advice is greatly appreciated.
