Compartment lights

2018 Lynx. All compartment lights stopped working. Removed ground wire from terminal block on transom and lights worked. This is first ground wire from left side of block on bottom. Appears to run toward front of boat. Lights work when this wire is removed from block but do not flash and automatically shut off as before. Lights stay on until lid is closed. Touch pad or connection at pad?  I’ve seen this mentioned in relation to light alarm issues. Thanks for any advice.

The issue is either a bad panel or a lost ground. The lighted boxes get the ground from different places so for all boxes to have stopped working then it could be the power supply, or the last is a panel. We haven’t seen many panel failures on lights. Does this boat have one panel or two with a round secondary for freshwater in and pump out livewell operation?

We can’t answer as to why the removal of a ground is causing an issue. The lights do flash in a slow rhythm from a timer, and they flash in fast succession when a box switch is left open. The ground removal is a new one to us, though if you pulled the random ground that fed the panel, you could have busted the open circuit. Thus we are still prone to check the individual switches that break one side of the feed. (One wire)

A panel could be bad, we think there’s more to this one so check all the switches for operation. They are or should be contacting when lids are open.
