Balzout double graph mount?

I’ve got a 9″ Helix on the bow of our Caracal and am purchasing a 10″ Helix for our new Megalive. 

I’ve settled on a Balzout 2 graph setup but am curious if you guys have suggestions or knowledge of which heights I should use for the lower and upper graphs. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a very similar setup on my Classic. 4″ and 6″ arms. I have a Helix 10 and a 7.

My recommendation would be to put everything on the mount how you want it, hold it in place and mark where you want the holes for the base.  I did it by myself, but help is better.  These mounts are very adjustable, but you just want to make sure you’re starting from the right spot. If I would have just thrown the base down and bolted it in where I thought it should be, I would have been wrong.

Thanks Alexander, for the answer. Another member has the same setup: 4″ lower and 6″ upper so that sounds about right for me too.

I’m extremely OCD and I’ve never installled anything on our 9 boats without first measuring 20 times (was a finish carpenter and tile setter in a previous life) so there’s no worries there, but I needed to know, before ordering the Balzout, the approximate height of the arms.

I did get a sore neck looking at your photos but it’s OK now 🙂

One last thought, I ran clean dedicated power from the battery for every individual item.  1 for each graph, 1 for the megalive transducer, one for the network hub that I located in the forward compartment.  I just kept reading about interference and power issues, and everything I watched recommended it.

10 ga, tinned, marine grade.  I set up a terminal hub next to the batteries.  Used heat shrink marine terminals.  Overall result was a very clean setup, pulling the lines was a little challenge but definitly do-able.
