cranking battery terminal cover

2023 Caracal Trying to get the terminal cover off the battery. It looks like a couple spots where you squeeze it to lift it off, but it wont budge. I dont want to break it by prying on it. Any guidance ? Thanks

That is a Mercury Marine part we purchase for the long terminal bar. Yes it should snap off and they do cut a slot for some clearance.
