dealer or Basscat factory

Does anybody know , when you order a new basscat from dealer, does the dealer install trolling motor or is that done at the basscat factory? Same question for electronics (fish finder)?

It depends on how it is ordered. We prefer to factory install new units, though today many want large individualized mounting systems, which vary greatly.

There are 25-30 various graph system companies which build mounts. Today some request we don’t mount graphs, even more common is not buying our electronics and installing what the buyer has acquired. Often that’s off his old boat.

The new front ends on the Puma STS and Caracal STS have changed this for dual graphs, which dual graphs are enough for most people. We do more dual graph mounting on those models than before, with our dual BalZout mount assembly, which we designed the dual mount for dual graphs about 7 years ago.

Hello,  my force trolling motor looks to have a plug , plugged into a metal basscat plate. Does that simply pull out to remove? I tried pulling it out and it was extremely difficult to remove, to the point I stopped pulling on it , for fear I was doing something wrong.

Post a picture of the plug, the older Marinco plug pulls out, the newer Battery Tender unscrews. You could look them up on Google and figure which one you have.

Just twist left, and remove is the usual method for the Marinco style. The Battery Tender has a knob you unscrew. If it is older than the large Marinco, then it’s a MEP plug in and that is a three prong molded trolling motor plug. The flapper holds it in place, with a notch. Otherwise it should slip out. If it has gotten hot, then definitely there could be some molding of the plastics and fusion.

Mine is a manrico, I wonder why you would have to twist left ?  I assume there are just prongs?

Because the prongs have locking offsets.

OK,  so the manrico is a good 2 inches long , like a fat cylinder. Do I twist the entire plug to the left, or part of the plug , as it almost looks like the plug could possibly have two different sections ?  Second question , if it is one piece plug,  simply twist left about much?

Your plug is what we in the trades (retired now) call a twist-lock, it keeps things like skil saws plugged in when attached to extension cords etc. Just turn it to the left till it stops turning then it should pull straight out
