Please don’t make your decision based on what I’m about to say but one thing on the back of that boat that needs sealed with silicone is the jackplate. All the boats produced now are all fiberglass and the jackplates are sealed with silicone to prevent water intrusion. It’s normal is what I’m saying. If you are where the boat is or can get to it, a better way to check transom integrity would be to remove the transom saver, tilt the motor to about 3/4 trim or so, grab the lower unit and pull up and push down pretty hard while observing any movement of the transom itself. If she moves much, more inspection required.
If it looks like they used two tubes of silicon on outside of jackplate and spread it with a dead possum, that’s a different animal.
