Tahoe/Yukon Towiing Bass Boat

Any experience or advice on towing with a Cheverolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon.

The 2010 Avalanche pulls fine but i have some concerns about the shorter wheelbase of 10 inches in the smaller SUV Tahoe/Yokons

Wife had an ‘18 and I didn’t like towing the boat with it as it has a quick ratio steering for parking and sloppy suspension for comfort which isn’t good for towing on the highway. I put aftermarket sway bars on it that made it better, but other SUV’s I’ve owned (TBSS/Grand Cherokee/Durango RT/Expedition) have towed better fwiw.

I’m pulling my ‘24 puma with a 2024 Tahoe RST.  It has the 5.3 L v-8 engine. When I use the tow/haul mode it’s a beast pulling that boat.  Half the time you don’t really feel it back there but i think that’s also a testament to the BassCat trailer.  The mileage per gallon is somewhere between 11-13.8 just depending on if I’m looking to get after it or just looking to make my way down the road. For me it’s a very comfortable and safe ride.  Hope that helps.

RST has a better handling suspension being the sport model and ‘21+ models got the IRS, I’m sure that along with a dual axle trailer makes yours a nicer setup. 5.3 is the same DI engine, but that 10-speed trans is definitely an improvement of the older 6-speed auto.

Yeah 6.2L definitely helps and Premier has the mag ride as standard like RST, wife’s was just an LT.
